Resilient Runners Workshops
Hi! We’re Wendy Lavin & Robin McGuire
We are physical therapists and running enthusiasts with advanced training in orthopedic manual physical therapy. We specialize in treating running-related injuries. Nothing excites us more than giving runners the lifelong tools they need to stay strong, confident, and out of the medical system.
This Winter and Spring 2026, we are hosting focused, one-hour workshops designed to give you practical skills you can use for a lifetime. Each session delivers targeted, individualized information so you can better understand your body, improve performance, and reduce injury risk.
Join us for hands-on topics such as:
Physical performance testing
Strength and mobility assessments
Running-specific injury prevention strategies
Workshop #1:
Run Strong. Strength & Power Essentials for Runners
Date/Time: Sunday, January 18th, 2026, 8:00am-9:00am
Location: TBD (Fremont or Magnolia)
Cost: $45
With the constant bombardment of fitness advice, it can be challenging to distinguish trends from solid, evidence-based guidance. As an endurance runner, your strength training shouldn’t mirror that of a bodybuilder or team sport athlete. It needs to be specific, efficient, and designed to complement the high mileage required for endurance running, so you can improve your running economy* without sacrificing your time on the road/trail.
In this workshop, you'll learn how to structure your resistance training for maximum impact: how heavy, how much, how often, and which muscle groups to target, so every stride is stronger, more powerful, and more injury-resilient.
Workshop #2: Physical Performance Testing
Date/Time: Monday, February 23 2026, 6:30-7:30PM
Location: TBD (Fremont or Magnolia)
Cost: $45
Wendy and Robin will guide you through a battery of tests to assess your motor control* and mobility, helping you identify inefficiencies and unlock more effective, resilient movement patterns. You’ll leave with 2–3 personalized exercises targeting your unique areas for improvement.
The result: reduced injury risk, improved symmetry, and enhanced running performance.
Workshop #3: Optimize Your Running Form
Date/Time: Sunday, March 15th 2026, 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM
Location: TBD (Magnolia or Fremont)
Cost: $45
Through guided running drills, you’ll learn practical techniques to refine your form, adjust cadence, and optimize your mechanics for different terrains. Whether you’re training for performance or aiming for pain-free miles, this session gives you evidence-based strategies to make your running more efficient, sustainable, and effective.
